Cantonese 喺 hai2 directly replaces Mandarin 在 zài in all uses — location, ongoing action, and existence. The preposition grammar is identical; you just swap the characters. Cantonese spatial terms (呢度/嗰度/邊度) replace Mandarin 這裡/那裡/哪裡.
The preposition 喺 hai2 is the Cantonese equivalent of Mandarin 在 zài. It works in all the same contexts: location (喺屋企 hai2 uk1 kei2 = at home), existence (佢喺度 keoi5 hai2 dou6 = he's here), and as a progressive marker (less common than 緊). Just swap 在 for 喺.
Cantonese spatial terms replace Mandarin 這裡/那裡/哪裡: 呢度 ni1 dou6 = 這裡 (here), 嗰度 go2 dou6 = 那裡 (there), 邊度 bin1 dou6 = 哪裡 (where). These are used constantly: 你喺邊度？nei5 hai2 bin1 dou6? (Where are you?) = Mandarin 你在哪裡？
Directional prepositions: 由 jau4 = from (= 從 cóng), 到 dou3 = to/until (= 到 dào). The pattern 由...到 jau4...dou3 works like Mandarin 從...到: 由屋企到公司 jau4 uk1 kei2 dou3 gung1 si1 (from home to the office). Also: 去到 heoi3 dou3 = arrive at (去到學校 = arrive at school).
Location phrases go before the verb, same as Mandarin: 我喺屋企食飯 ngo5 hai2 uk1 kei2 sik6 faan6 (I eat at home) = Mandarin 我在家吃飯. The structure Subject + 喺 + Place + Verb is identical to Subject + 在 + Place + Verb.
Some useful Cantonese-specific location vocabulary: 上面 soeng6 min2 (above), 下面 haa6 min2 (below), 隔離 gaak3 lei4 (next to — replaces Mandarin 旁邊 pángbiān), 對面 deoi3 min2 (opposite). 隔離 is particularly common: 隔離嗰間 gaak3 lei4 go2 gaan1 (the one next door).
Mandarin: 你在哪裡？ nǐ zài nǎlǐ?

隔離 gaak3 lei4 = next to/next door — replaces Mandarin 旁邊
